Terms of Service

By accessing or using Fact & Anchor (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Fact & Anchor is pre-alpha software under active development. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice. Data may be lost due to bugs, schema migrations, or infrastructure changes. Do not use this service to store your only copy of any important document or record.

Access is by invitation only. We reserve the right to revoke access at any time for any reason.

You agree not to upload documents containing real sensitive personal information, including but not limited to: government-issued IDs, passports, financial statements, medical records, or tax returns with real personal data. The service is intended for use with dummy or sample documents only.

Document text is processed by third-party AI APIs (Anthropic). By uploading a document, you confirm it contains no real sensitive information and you accept all responsibility for any data you choose to upload.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FACT & ANCHOR AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR ANY OTHER LOSS ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE — EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (OR $0 IF THE SERVICE WAS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE).

• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that violates these Terms.
• You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or circumvent any security measures of the Service.
• You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

You retain ownership of documents and data you upload. By uploading, you grant us a limited license to process that data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

The Fact & Anchor name, logo, and software are owned by us and may not be used without permission.

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time. You may stop using the Service at any time. On termination, your data will be retained for up to 30 days then deleted, unless you request earlier deletion by emailing factandanchor@gmail.com.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, USA. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
